Reflection Day 26

Today we had a substitute teacher fill in for Mr. Rease. She was training to be a new teacher at Cedar Grove. We addressed her as Ms. Cook. She was a petite Black Hispanic lady with a slight accent in her speech but was pretty articulate. She started off the lesson by talking about how women do not get the same opportunities as men. This was the reason she could not go into film and achieve her goals. We continued the lesson by reading "A Dream Deferred" by Langston Hughes. The rest of the lesson consisted of engaging discussions between the students and the teacher. We also wrote out our goals on a heart card.

Introduction

     My name is Aalim, I am 17 years old, and I aspire to be a mechanical engineer. I enjoy roller skating,  skateboarding, flying, and welding. My top three music artists are Pi'erre Bourne, Young Nudy, and Duwap Kaine. One fact is that I mainly write cursive. Another is that I am a student pilot working on my PPL. I also run a business. This Summer I want to travel to Florida when I get my private pilot license.

Reflection Day 54

 Today we submitted the poems we worked on yesterday. Then we did a reading exercise. We read about self-driving cars. I remembered watching a video in middle school on self-driving cars. Here we are in 2023, and people are sleeping behind the wheel in their Teslas. I learned about the pros and cons of self-driving cars, and come to the conclusion that self-driving cars would be good for those with a disability but unnecessary as a luxury flex.
